Thiem rallied again from an early 2-Zero gap to beat Germany’s Alexander Zverev within the title match on Sunday afternoon at Arthur Ashe Stadium 2-6, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 7-6 (8-6). 

The win, which took greater than 4 hours, marked his first grand slam title.

Thiem rallies out of 2-Zero gap

Zverev seemed answerable for the match early on Sunday, hitting 138 mph along with his function he notched 4 aces, gained two break factors and cruised to a 6-2 win within the opening set.
